Ignoring Keyword Search Optimization means ending your business online and this is exactly what majority of webmasters does and fails. Keyword SEO is beginning of optimization process. Many entrepreneurs come up with a few keywords quickly, optimize their pages a bit and then submit them to the engines. Wrong! Why? Because website, not keyword optimized end up as “footer” in search engine ranking. What good is to have gorgeous website and nobody can find it! Some effort is required. Spend some time researching keywords or keyword phrases related to your business.
Open your text editor or notepad in one window and your website in another. Now, read carefully your website landing page (First page) content and when finished, think.
What is your page about?
What products or services are you offering?
Think about the best keyword or keyword phrase that 100% describe your offer. Write down every single keyword that comes to your mind.
Next step in Keyword Optimization is entering each of those keywords or keyword phrases into the Google search. Look at the top right hand site to see how many websites are competing for the same keyword phrase. You need to find the less competitive keyword phrase but still searched by prospects.
Tips: Main purpose of keyword optimization is increasing traffic and sales. In order for client to find you, your keyword phrase has to be exact phrase that majority clients are entering in a search to find a product that you are offering. On another hand, keyword phrase has to be less oversubscribed with less competition.
If you are Excel savvy, export results (keyword phrases and number of competitors) in excel. Once finished look through keywords and choose a few keyword phrases for further analysis.
Open Google Keywords tool and insert selected keyword phrases one at the time. This is one excellent free tool giving you an insight of keyword popularity. Keywords related to term(s) entered – sorted by relevancy. You will see:
Advertiser Competition, Local Search volume for prior month, Global Monthly search that should be enough to choose one or two medium-popular keywords or phrases per page. Insert those main keywords in your title, description, in your header and in first line of your body text (highlight it!). After that, repeat a few times your main keywords but not more that 3% of all word counts for entire body. For example: If your body text has 500 words you will include about 15 main keyword phrases in your text. Remember: If you are a beginner with new created website don’t start aggressively with the title. Use only one keyword phrase per title.

As mentioned before you have to choose a few keywords. Pick up one keyword as your main keyword and the rest-less common phrases just squeeze into the body text, hoping that they will help the page to come up on some multi-word searches.
Repeat this process for every page on your site. You should be able to create an individual, distinct list of keywords for each page. The different lists should not “compete” with each other but each should cover different areas and complement each other. This does not however mean that there shouldn’t be any similarities between your lists – it’s perfectly OK to have some, but the lists shouldn’t be 100% identical. It is better to have 20 good listings on different search terms than 20 good listings on the same one.
