Some Keywords Can Deprive You Your Well Deserved Traffic

It’s always said that we learn by the mistakes that we make and that experience is the best teacher. I got a shock of my life when my traffic dropped to zero after I though I got the right buzz/key word for content intended for South African traffic and the region. It’s a common word used in the region ‘mzansi’ that made me think I got the right keyword a bit unpopular online yet very popular offline.

I’m working on increasing traffic to my website through the proven hard way by SBI, CTPM. It’s been very difficult at the beginning and as I watched my traffic grow, I got so motivated and impressed such that I began searching for more specific keyword. I use articlesbase.com as you can see, and went to search for articles with the so common word ‘mzansi’ and there was no article at the directory with this assumed to be powerful key word.

To ascertain myself of success, as recommended by SBI, I went to google.com to see how many results come up when searching on ‘Mzansi’. The results to my understanding were impressive at 950 thousands. I though it was thee keyword for the regional target. I posted the first article and within four hours I had received for viewers in the first article. The following day I wanted to capitalize and create as much articles on the ‘mzansi’ as I could. But it worked the other way round for me.

I always assess my traffic acquiring efforts every Monday where I do not influence the hits and impression because I hardly us the internet on weekends. My traffic had dropped more than 90percent and the only factor I could attribute to this was the wrong keyword ‘Mzansi’. My articlesbase.com views retarded and dropped more than 50 percent.

I think the main mistake I made was diverting from the general scope of my articles at articlebase. Though my conclusion at this experience could be confusing, I think I know what I’m saying and wouldn’t advice any blogger like me to keep trying too many kewords because there could be negative response to traffic.
